This milestone is located on the pre-turnpike route into Settle and dates from the early 19th century. Made of stone, it stands approximately 60 centimeters high and features a round head. The inscriptions on the milestone indicate the distances to various locations: London is 236 miles away, Kirkby Lonsdale is 17 miles, Hawes is 26 miles, Skipton is 16 miles, and Lancaster is 26 miles.
