Description
Sutcliffe House is a former house, now converted into flats, built in the early 19th century for S Parker. It features slobbered rubble with stone dressings and a stone slate roof, presenting a two-span roof design. The building has three storeys plus a basement and is arranged in three bays. There are entrances on either side of the central bay, each with a plain surround and slab hood, leading to six-panel doors, one of which has a rectangular fanlight above it.
All windows have plain surrounds, with three sixteen-pane sash windows on the ground floor and three on the first floor, which also has a sill band. The second-floor windows are smaller and consist of eight-pane casements. The building is adorned with chamfered quoins and modillioned eaves. It has two ridge stacks and gable-end ridge stacks that are evenly spaced. The right-hand return features a segmental-headed arch with a keystone inscribed with "P SE 1841." The rear of the building faces downhill and has four storeys, six bays, two entrances, and windows styled similarly to those on the front.
