Description
Woolers, Staffords McLoughlin's is a group of three houses dating from the 17th century, which were refronted in the 19th century. They are constructed of slobbered rubble with stone dressings and feature a stone slate roof. Each house has a front that is two storeys high and consists of one bay, with a ridge stack on each. The rear of the houses is three storeys tall and has three bays, including a former four-light double chamfered mullioned window with a hoodmould, which has been altered to a one-light window with a 20th-century entrance to the right on the ground floor. On the first floor, there is a two-light double chamfered mullioned window on the left and a similar window on the right, which has four lights and a king mullion; both have 20th-century casements. The left-hand gable features an early 18th-century entrance that is now partly obscured by The Cottage. On the ground and first floors, there is a two-light double chamfered mullioned window on both levels, which also have 20th-century casements and hoodmoulds, with the ground floor hoodmould featuring spiral stops. There is a chamfered window with a 20th-century casement on the second floor. Number 6 includes one bay of a king block roof with a decorated block.
