Description

This milestone, located approximately 25 meters west of the junction with the lane to the north in Haverthwaite, dates from around 1763. It was created for the Kirkby Kendal to Kirkby Ireleth Turnpike Trust. The milestone is made of stone and features a round-headed post that is inscribed with the number 13, indicating it is 13 miles from Kendal.
