Description

This milestone, located approximately 370 metres west of Water Side House, dates from around 1763 and was erected for the Kirkby Kendal to Kirkby Ireleth Turnpike Trust. It is made of stone and features a round-headed post inscribed with the number 12, indicating the distance in miles from Kendal.
