Description
This milestone, located opposite the end of the lane to Staveley in Staveley-in-Cartmel, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It was erected for the Kirkby Kendal to Kirkby Ireleth Turnpike Trust. The stone is a round-headed post with the inscription "K/11," indicating that it is 11 miles to Kendal.
