Description

The Blacksmith's House and attached garage, located at No 31 on Village Street in Settrington, is a building that dates from around 1800, although it likely has earlier origins. It has been remodeled in the 20th century. The structure is built of squared limestone on a limestone rubble plinth, with a brick eaves course and a pantile roof featuring brick stacks.

The building is two stories tall with a three-window front, and there is a single-storey range to the left. A 20th-century panelled door, which is located to the left of the center, is accessed by a flight of steps. Throughout the building, there are 20th-century three-light, small-pane casements with painted stone sills. All openings have painted tooled wedge lintels. The single-storey range has three sets of double board doors, with two tooled wedge lintels surviving over the center pair. The house has end stacks.
