Description
Langthorne Cottage is a house built around 1800, with alterations and extensions made in 1985. It is constructed from squared limestone and features a brick eaves course, topped with a pantile roof and rebuilt brick stacks. The original design included a central-staircase plan, with the house being one room deep and an outshut. The front of the cottage is two stories high and has two windows. A central 20th-century four-panel door is located beneath a divided overlight. The windows are three-light, small-pane casements with painted stone sills. The ground-floor openings have renewed concrete lintels, while the first-floor windows feature painted timber lintels. The right gable has a coped top and a shaped kneeler, with end stacks visible. The 20th-century extensions at the rear are not considered of special interest. The cottage is included for its group value.
