Description
Numbers 27 and 28 are a pair of cottages dating from around 1800, with 20th-century alterations and extensions. They are constructed of squared limestone, featuring a brick eaves course and irregular, hammered quoins. The cottage at number 27 has a pantile roof, while number 28 has a concrete pantile roof, both with brick chimney stacks. Each cottage has a central entrance plan and a two-storey front with four windows. The doors are part-glazed, and there are 20th-century top-opening windows with small-pane glazing throughout. Ground-floor openings have painted tooled wedge lintels, while the first-floor windows feature painted timber lintels. There are end and center stacks, and the rear extensions are not of special interest. The cottages are included for their group value.
