Description

Numbers 46 and 47 are a pair of cottages dating from around 1800, with some alterations and extensions made in the 20th century. They are constructed from squared limestone with a brick eaves course, and there is a brick outbuilding attached to number 47. The cottages feature a pantile roof with brick stacks, one of which has been rebuilt.

The front of the building is two stories high and has four windows. Number 46, on the left, has a central door and two-light casement windows, with small panes on the ground floor and large panes on the first floor. Number 47 has a central four-panel door flanked by two-light, small-pane casements, and on the first floor, there are two-light, 24-pane horizontal sliding sashes. All windows have painted stone sills, and the ground-floor openings have painted wedge lintels, while the first-floor windows have painted timber lintels.

At the rear, there are single-storey lean-to outbuildings for both cottages. The building has end and centre stacks. Number 46 is included for its group value.
