SETTRINGTON VILLAGE STREET (west side) Nos 48 and 49 and attached outbuildings

GV II

Pair of cottages. c1800 with C20 alteration and extension. Squared limestone with brick eaves course; pantile roof and brick stacks, one rebuilt. 2-storey, 4-window front, with single-storey, lean-to extension to left, and single-storey outbuilding to right. No 48 to left has C20 central door and 2-light, large-pane casements throughout. No 49 has C20 central door flanked by 2-light, 24-pane horizontal sliding sashes; 2-light, 24-pane casements to first floor. Painted stone sills to all windows. Painted wedge lintels to all ground-floor openings, and painted timber lintels to first-floor windows. Outbuilding to right has board door. End and centre stacks. No 48 included for group value.
