Description

Number 25 and 26 are a pair of cottages dating from around 1800. They are built from squared limestone with a brick eaves course and irregular, hammered quoins. Number 25 has brick outbuildings, and both cottages feature a pantile roof with rebuilt brick stacks. Each cottage has a central entrance plan and a two-storey front with four windows. The centre doors are accessed by steps. The windows are 2-light, 24-pane horizontal sliding sashes with painted stone sills throughout. Ground floor openings have painted tooled wedge lintels, while the first floor features painted timber lintels. At the rear, there is a single-storey lean-to outbuilding for each cottage. The cottages have end and centre stacks. At the time of resurvey, these cottages were noted as the only unaltered pair in the village.
