Description

Numbers 20, 21, and 22, along with their attached outbuildings, form a terrace of three cottages that were originally four, built around 1800, with later alterations in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The cottages are constructed from square limestone, featuring brick eaves and irregular hammered quoins. The gable wall on the right is rendered and includes a bay window with a slate roof. The cottages have a pantile roof with brick stacks, some of which have been partly rebuilt.

The building is two stories high and has a six-window front. The entrances to numbers 21 and 22 on the left are through modern part-glazed doors, which are flanked by small-paned casements. Number 20 on the right has a door made of six raised and fielded panels set within a modern trellis porch, and there is an additional board door to the right. The end window on the right is a two-light, 24-pane horizontal sliding sash, while the remaining windows are modern large-pane casements. There are no first-floor windows at the end right. The windows have painted stone sills, with painted tooled wedge lintels above all ground-floor openings and painted timber lintels over the first-floor windows.

The gable wall to the right features a 19th-century canted bay with small-pane sashes, and above it is a two-light, 18-pane casement, also with a painted wedge lintel. At the rear, there are single-storey lean-to outbuildings for each cottage, with stacks located at the center and on the left and right.
