Description
The Blacksmith's Shop and adjoining house, dating from the early 19th century, is constructed of coursed rubble with tooled and margined quoins and dressings, topped with a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and features three bays in an irregular layout.
The central part of the structure has an elliptical-arched carriage entrance with a 12-pane sash window above it. To the left, the blacksmith's shop has a stable door flanked by renewed windows set in old openings. To the right, the house features a four-panel door with a three-pane overlight above it, and a 12-pane sash window to the right, with similar windows located above. All openings are characterized by alternating jambs.
The building has end and ridge stacks made of yellow brick, with the ridge stack supporting a weathervane shaped like a horse. At the rear, there is an outshut.
