Description

The statue of Apenthe, located to the north of the tennis courts at Whitfield Hall, was created in 1893 by A.P. Luichen, who signed the base. This statue is made of squared stone and bronze and depicts a nude female figure with a bat perched on her head. She stands on a rock that features ammonites and an incised drawing of a mammoth. The statue is set on a squared stone plinth and was originally brought from Pallinsburn in Cornhill on Tweed.
