Description
The Coach House and adjacent buildings at Whitfield Hall, dated 1786 on the rainwater head, are constructed from rubble with cut quoins and dressings, topped with a slate roof and featuring a wooden clock turret. The structure has six bays, with a projecting central two-bay coach house that includes elliptical-headed rebated carriage entrances and a lunette above. The roof is hipped, and a square clock turret sits on the ridge, supported by eight columns that hold a lead cupola with a weather vane. To the left, there is a two-storey, two-bay section with two boarded doors, the left door featuring a four-pane overlight. This section also includes a four-pane window and a nine-pane shortened sash between, as well as two pitching doors above. The right section, also two bays, has six-pane casements set in stone surrounds. A lead rainwater head, adorned with the date and acanthus ornament, completes the building.
