Description
The Old Post Office and adjacent outbuildings is a house, likely built in the late 18th century. It features squared stone construction with tooled and margined quoins and dressings, topped by a slate roof, while the rear outshut and outbuildings have stone slates. The building has two storeys and two wide bays. The central entrance has a renewed door with an overlight, set within an open porch supported by circular stone piers. There are 12-pane sash windows, and all openings have alternating jambs. The stepped stacks have been rebuilt in yellow brick. To the right rear, there is a single-storey range of outbuildings, now partly used for domestic purposes, which includes two elliptical-arched cart entrances, one of which is blocked, along with a boarded door flanked by small windows. The end section of this range has a slate roof and is not of particular interest. There is a corniced stone ridge stack at the right end and a brick stack. The left rear outbuilding range contains several sash windows, including one old sliding sash.
