Description
The Coach House in the grounds of the former Oxton Hall is an early 19th-century building. It features a rendered exterior over red brick, with some ashlar elements. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, and it has bracketed eaves along with a single ridge stack made of red brick. The building includes a lantern with a clock face on each side and wooden arcading topped with a shallow pyramidal roof.
This coach house is L-shaped, consisting of two storeys and five bays. The two bays on the left slightly project and include, from left to right, an archway with inner doorways that have panelled doors, two glazing bar sashes, a carriage archway, and another glazing bar sash. Above these features are three oval openings with ashlar surrounds.
To the right, there is a similar two-storey, three-bay extension that includes a single glazing bar sash. Further to the right are two large arched doorways with double plank doors, and above these are two openings fitted with sliding plank doors.
