Description
Orchard Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with 20th-century extensions. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof, with two gable and one ridge red brick stacks. The building has dentil eaves and stands two storeys plus an attic, comprising four bays, with the left single bay being a later 20th-century addition. The original 18th-century section has a central doorway with a plank door and a glazing bar overlight, leading to an open porch made of brick and wood with plain tiles. On either side of the doorway are single glazing bar sash windows with painted flush wedge lintels. Above, there are three similar sash windows with matching lintels. In the attic, there are two flat-topped dormers made of wood and lead, each containing a single casement window. Between the two first-floor right windows is a single insurance plaque. The extension on the left features a low glazing bar sash window and a smaller similar sash window above, both with matching lintels.
