Description

Two houses, likely dating from the early 19th century with later 19th-century alterations. The ground floor is stuccoed, with pebbledash above, and painted ashlar dressings. Both houses have a horizontal band beneath the upper windows, an eaves band, sash windows with plain surrounds, and a limestone plinth. Number 26 is three stories high with three bays and features a central doorway with a curved arch above, recessed within a surrounding doorcase of engaged Ionic columns supporting an open triangular pediment. A flight of three stone steps with nosings leads to the doorway. Number 26A is set back and is two stories high with one bay. Its doorway, on the right-hand side, has a round-headed arch with a fanlight and a late-20th-century door. Chimneys are located on the gables of Number 26 and to the left of Number 26A.
