Description
33 and 35 Soutergate is a house that likely dates from the 17th century, with alterations made in the early and late 19th century. The building is roughcast with a slate roof and has two low storeys and three bays. The windows are sash style, featuring plain reveals and painted stone sills. On the ground floor, there is a window between the second and third bays that likely replaces a former doorway. The left-hand bay has a bowed timber window typical of the early 19th century. The door, located between the first and second bays, is framed by a stone surround with edge roll moulding, impost blocks, and a stone hood supported by fluted brackets. The door itself has four raised and fielded panels beneath three glazed panels. A large chimney stack with offsets projects from the left-hand gable wall.
