Description

Two houses, likely dating from around 1810, with the left end possibly being a later addition. They are constructed of ashlar stone, with the left end rendered in stucco. The roofs are slate, and there are brick chimney stacks. The houses have a double-depth plan and are in a Georgian style. They are three storeys high, with a symmetrical three-window facade and a single-window facade to the left end. Features include a plain plinth, a sill band on the first floor, and a top cornice with a lead gutter. The main entrance has moulded pilasters and a bracketed open pediment, with a leaded overlight and a six-panel door. The entrance to the left end house (number 52) has an architrave, frieze, and consoled cornice, also with a six-panel door, both with steps leading up to them. The windows have sills and twelve-pane sashes, with six-pane sashes on the second floor. There is a cross-axial chimney stack and an end chimney stack. A gabled rear wing extends from the rear of number 52. The interior of number 52 features a winding staircase with stick balusters.
