Description

These are three houses located on Beacon Street, dating from around 1830. They are built of brick with a tile roof and prominent brick stacks. A decorative brick cornice runs along the top of the building. The houses have two storeys and a five-window facade. The right-hand entrance (number 34) features a doorcase with panelled pilasters, a decorative frieze, and a cornice, leading to a door with five fielded panels. A segmental-headed opening to the right contains a plank door. A former shop front, located to the left of the centre, has corbelled shafts supporting the cornice, and an overlight above a 20th-century panelled door. It also includes a 20th-century bow window. The left-hand end entrance (number 38) has a segmental-headed opening with a four-panel door. The windows are segmental-headed with four-pane sashes. There are two large stacks on the front of the ridge. Rear wings are present. The houses are included in the listing primarily for their group value.
