This is a mid-19th century house and shop. The building is constructed of painted incised stucco, with a modillioned gutter, and has a slate roof with brick chimney stacks. It is three stories high and comprises two bays on each side. A central panelled doorway, set within a painted stone surround, gives access to number 4. A large 20th-century shop window with an entrance is positioned to the right. A 20th-century door provides access to number 6, accompanied by a double sash window to the left. Sash windows are located under ornamented hoods on the first floor. The building is listed partly for group value with the Hare & Grounds Public House.
