Description

Penrice Drapers is a shop with a flat above, built in the early 19th century. It features painted stucco with a dentilled cornice and broad pilasters. The roof is a 20th-century hipped tile design with painted stucco chimney stacks. The building stands three storeys high and has two bays. The early 20th-century shop window includes a central feature of painted stone columns. The entrance to the upper floor is located to the left and is framed by a moulded wooden surround. The first floor has sash windows set in painted stone architraves, which are topped with console bracketed cornices, while the windows on the upper floor are framed with eared architraves. This building is listed partly for its group value with the Kings Arms and Nos 4 and 6 West Street.
