Description
No. 14 West Street in Wigton is a house dating from the early to mid 19th century. It features painted stucco with string courses, a dentilled cornice, and broad angle pilasters on a chamfered plinth. The roof is made of graduated greenslate and has a coped gable on the right, along with a cement rendered chimney stack. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. There are steps leading up to a six-panel door that is topped by a glazed fanlight and set within a Tuscan doorcase. On either side of the door are large triple casement windows, which are framed by pilastered surrounds and topped with console bracketed pediments. The upper floor has sash windows that are painted and set within architraves, each under a cornice. This property is listed partly for its group value with Nos 16 and 18 West Street and Arlosh House.
