Description
The Hare and Hounds and No. 8 is a public house and former shop that has been combined into one property. It dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. The building features painted incised stucco beneath a steeply pitched Welsh slate roof, which is complemented by original cement rendered tall chimney stacks. It is two storeys high with two bays, plus an additional bay above a carriage arch on the left, and a two-bay former shop on the right, all under a common roof. The entrance includes a six-panel door and sash windows, all framed in painted stone surrounds. There are plank doors within the flat-headed carriage arch. A 20th-century shop window to the right has been painted over, while sash windows above are also set in painted stone surrounds.
