Description
Country Kitchen is a public house that has been converted into a house and cafe/shop. It dates from the late 18th century and is built from snecked calciferous sandstone ashlar on a chamfered plinth, featuring V-jointed quoins and a moulded cornice. The roof is made of Welsh slate, and there are brick chimney stacks.
No. 4 has two storeys and two bays, while No. 5 also has two storeys but three bays, both sharing a common roof and formerly known as the Old Kings Arms when they were one building. The entrances feature panelled doors with glazed fanlights set in pilastered surrounds with round moulded arches. To the right, there is a carriage arch with a quoined surround.
The windows of No. 5 are sash windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds, while No. 4 has single-pane sash windows in painted stone surrounds. The wall of No. 4 shows signs of a blocked entrance and a blocked shop window.
