Description
The Kings Arms and No. 5, also known as Walter Willsons, is a public house and shop located on the north side of Wigton Market Place. It dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The building features painted render with V-jointed quoins on a chamfered plinth. No. 5 has painted stucco walls, an eaves cornice, and angle pilasters. The roof is made of common graduated greenslate and has coped gables.
The structure has three storeys and four bays, while No. 5 has two bays. The Kings Arms boasts an 8-panel round-headed door set in a painted stone surround, along with sash windows in round-headed painted stone surrounds. No. 5 features 20th-century shop windows, with sash windows above in painted stone surrounds. No. 5 is included for group value with the Kings Arms.
