Description

This is a house located at 27 Lauds Road, built in the 18th century, with a datestone marking the year 1753 and the initials JSM. It was remodeled in the mid-19th century. The building features coursed squared ironstone, with windows framed in limestone ashlar, a tiled roof, and brick stacks. It has two storeys and an attic, comprising four bays. The entrance is in the second bay from the left, featuring a moulded wood frame, a flat hood supported by brackets, panelled reveals, and a four-panel door with an overlight. To the left of the entrance, there is a sash window with sidelights and a squared ironstone surround. A similar window is located to the right, along with a 16-pane sash window in the right bay. On the first floor, there are sash windows with sidelights in the left bay and the second bay from the right, while the other first-floor windows are 16-pane sashes. The interior has not been inspected.
