Description
Low Thatch is a house dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is constructed from coursed ironstone rubble and coursed squared stone, with a thatched roof and brick stacks. The building is two storeys and an attic, with seven bays. An entrance in the third bay from the left has a wood lintel, a ribbed plank door, and a 20th-century plain wooden hood. Two two-light casement windows with wood lintels are present to the left; the left window replaces a former doorway. Two three-light casement windows to the right have double wood lintels, the upper lintel stop-chamfered, and the lower lintel is plain. A three-light casement window with a wood lintel sits in the third bay from the right, replacing a former doorway. Another doorway with a wood lintel and ribbed plank door is found in the right bay, and a two-light casement window with a wood lintel is in the second bay from the right. The first floor has two-light casement windows with wood lintels. A coped gable end is visible to the left. The interior has not been inspected. The two bays on the right now form part of "Hunters Gap" and are adjoined to that property.
