Description

This is a house, dating from around 1800, located on Crick High Street. It is constructed from roughly squared ironstone rubble and squared stone, with a slate roof and brick stacks on either side. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and has two bays. The entrance is on the left side and features wooden pilasters (fluted columns), an entablature decorated with a lozenge pattern, and a six-panel door. To the right of the entrance are two windows with stop-chamfered wood lintels and modern casements. The first floor also has similar windows. The attic has two-light windows with wood lintels and old iron casements, one in the right bay and one in the second bay from the right. A window is blocked on the left side. The cornice is made of brick and appears 'nogged' (a technique where bricks are laid in a herringbone pattern). The gable ends are coped. The rear of the building has been rebuilt using brick. The interior has not been inspected. The building is listed primarily for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
