Description

Vynter's Manor is a house dated around 1694, with the initials I.S. inscribed on a datestone in the center of the first floor. It was remodeled around 1925 and is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a tile roof and brick and stone stacks. The building has a Z-plan layout, partly featuring a lobby-entry plan, and consists of two storeys, an attic, and a cellar, with four bays.

The doorway, located in the second bay from the right, has a wooden lintel and a ribbed plank door. To the right of the doorway, there is a two-light wood-mullioned and transomed window with a wooden lintel, and a similar window is found to the left. The left bay contains a one-light stone window. On the first floor, there is a small two-light wood-mullioned and transomed window with a stone surround in the left bay, along with similar windows with wooden lintels in the right bay and the second bay from the right. Above the doorway, there is an oval stone window. The roof features three hipped dormers and a coped gable end, with a stack positioned to the right of the center.

A gabled wing extends forward from the left side of the house, built in a similar style and materials, also comprising two storeys and an attic with one bay. This wing has a three-light wood-mullioned and transomed window with a wooden lintel on the first floor and a similar two-light window above it. The gable end is coped and has a stack. There is a bay window on the left side of this wing, which has a datestone marked 1925. The property includes 20th-century extensions to the right of the main block and projecting forward from the left side of the rear of the main block.

Inside, the manor was remodeled in 1925 and features chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace. It also includes re-used Jacobean panelling and a staircase with re-used 18th-century balusters.
