Description
This is an early 18th-century house located on the east side of Crick High Street. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a thatched roof and brick stacks. The house follows a lobby-entry plan and has two storeys and an attic, originally with three bays. A doorway is located in the second bay from the left, featuring a wood lintel, a ribbed plank door, and a 20th-century gabled timber hood. The window to the left has a wood lintel and a 20th-century two-light casement. There are two similar windows to the right, and matching windows on the first floor; all are said to replace 19th-century sash windows. Attic windows, inserted in the early 19th century, have wood lintels and old iron casements. Renewed wooden panels connect beneath the sills of the first-floor windows. Internally, the ground floor rooms feature stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops and plain joists. There is also an open fireplace. The two right bays of the adjoining property, "Low Thatch," are now incorporated into “Hunters Gap.”
