Description

No. 23 Lauds Road is a house dating from the 17th century, with a datestone indicating 1675 and the initials DFC above the entrance. The building was remodelled in the early 19th century and is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with a tile roof and brick stacks. It has two storeys and two bays. The entrance, located to the left of centre, features wooden pilasters and an entablature with incised decoration, a flat moulded hood, panelled reveals, and a six-panel part-glazed door. To the right of the entrance is a three-light casement window with a wooden lintel, while to the left is a 12-pane window also with a wooden lintel. On the first floor, there are three-light casement windows with wooden lintels. The gable ends are coped and have kneelers. The interior has not been inspected.
