Description
Northgate House is a house dating from the 17th century, which was enlarged and remodeled in the 18th century. It features coursed squared ironstone, a tile roof, and brick stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with four bays and a gabled bay on the left. The entrance, located in the second bay from the left, has a moulded wood frame and a four-panel half-glazed door with an overlight, topped by a timber hood supported on brackets. To the right of the entrance are two three-light casement windows with wood lintels. On the left, there is a three-light stone mullioned window with a flat moulded hood, and a similar window is found in the left bay on the first floor. Above the entrance, there is a two-light casement window with a wood lintel. The right side features two additional three-light casement windows with wood lintels. In the attic of the left gable, there is a two-light stone-mullioned window with an eroded stone plaque above, which was formerly inscribed with J.D./A.D./1664. The interior has not been inspected.
