Description

The Haven is a cottage dating back to the 17th century, with an extension added in the 18th century. The walls are pebbledashed, with a thatched roof and a brick stack located to the left of the centre. The cottage has one storey plus an attic, and is five bays wide. The entrance, located in the second bay from the left, features a wood lintel, a six-panel door and a thatched hood. There is a two-light casement window with a wood lintel to the left, and a three-light casement window with a wood lintel to the right. A carriage entrance with a wood lintel and a plank door is situated in the third bay from the right, alongside a two-light casement window with a wood lintel in the right bay. The attic has a similar window in the left bay, and a three-light casement window with a wood lintel in the second bay from the left. An extension, projecting from the left side of the original cottage, dates back to the 18th century and is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with a thatched roof. This extension has two storeys and an attic, with two bays. There are two-light casement windows with stop-chamfered wood lintels on both floors. The gables are coped. The interior was not inspected.
