Description
Oak Cottage is a house from the 17th century, marked by a datestone from 1692 with the initials J.G. The roofline was altered in the 19th century. The building is constructed of squared coursed ironstone and features a slate roof with flanking brick stacks. It has two storeys and an attic, arranged in three bays.
The central doorway is topped with a 19th-century stone lintel and has a 20th-century part-glazed door, which is currently boarded in, along with sidelights. To the left of the doorway is a three-light window with a stone hood and stone mullions, while the window to the right features a stone hood and a 20th-century metal casement. The central two-light window, which has a stone mullion and no hood, is flanked by three-light stone mullioned windows that each have square hoods.
In the attic storey, there is a datestone at the center, with two-light stone mullioned windows with square hoods on either side. The gable ends are coped and feature kneelers. The interior has not been inspected.
