Description
This is a house located at 2 Nuns Lane, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble, with some brick courses at the eaves, and features a slate roof with brick end stacks. The house is two stories tall with an attic and has a two-window range. The central door, which is from the 20th century, has a timber lintel above it. To the right of the door is a 19th-century canted bay window, while to the left is a 19th-century three-light casement window with a 20th-century timber lintel. There is also a small single-light window on the far left with a timber lintel. On the first floor, there are two three-light casement windows, with the right window featuring a stop-chamfered timber lintel. The roof includes two 20th-century dormers, and the gables are coped stone with kneelers. Inside, the house has stop-chamfered beams and an open fireplace with a stop-chamfered bressumer inscribed with S/MS/1709.
