Description
No. 10 West Street is a late 18th-century house, dated 1779. It is constructed from ironstone ashlar and features Swithland slate roofs with a brick end stack. The house has two storeys and an attic, arranged in a three-window range. The entrance consists of a six-panel part-glazed door with a timber lintel and a trellis porch. On either side of the door are three-light casement windows. Above the door is a two-light leaded casement window, flanked by three-light leaded casements, all featuring timber lintels. A datestone inscribed "J/J.E/1779" is located between the central and right-hand upper windows. The building has a moulded stone cornice and stone-coped gables with kneelers. There are one and a half and one-storey wings at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
