Description
No. 9 Church Street is a house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a Swithland slate roof. The building is two stories tall and has a two and a half unit plan, with the main facade facing east. The central doorway is set within an architrave and has console brackets supporting a flat canopy. This doorway is flanked by three-light windows that have wooden mullions and transoms, all set in cambered brick heads. To the right of the doorway, there is an additional single light window on each floor. The upper windows are similar but consist of two lights only above the door. The house has a moulded wooden eaves cornice and gable end stacks. At the rear, there is a wing that faces the street, featuring two blind windows on each floor and a single two-light casement window on the ground floor.
