Description
No. 7 The Square is a house dating from the late 16th century. It has a timber frame and roofs made of Swithland and Welsh slate. The building is two stories tall and consists of five bays. At the center, there is a full-height gabled porch with a two-light window above the door. The left side of the house features brick construction with two-light casement windows on each floor. The right side is fully timber framed, raised on a rubble plinth, and has close studding on the ground floor with straight arched bracing to the principal posts. This section has a jettied upper story with wider panels, and the principal posts are moulded into consoles. There are three-light casement windows on each floor, along with an additional small window on the ground floor. The house has axial and rear wall stacks.
