Description
Garden Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th or 18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble with squared ironstone quoins, while the left side has been rebuilt in brick. The cottage features a thatched roof and brick stacks. It is two storeys high with four bays, and a gable was added to the right bay in the 20th century.
The left bay has a one-light window with a wood lintel, while the other ground floor windows are three-light with wood casements and wood lintels. There is a 20th-century two-light casement window with a wood lintel on the left side. Additionally, there are two-light windows with wood lintels and old iron casements in the left bay and the second bay from the left. The entrance is located in a one-storey extension at the rear, featuring a wood lintel and a plank door. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is reported to have chamfered spine beams and an old winder staircase.
