Description
No. 4 Helmdon Road is a house dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features an asbestos tile roof, along with brick and stone stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, with three bays. The entrance, located in the second bay from the right, has a moulded wood frame, a six-panel part-glazed door, and a flat timber hood supported by scroll brackets. To the right of the entrance is a 19th-century three-light casement window with a wood lintel, while there are two similar windows to the left. On the first floor, the left bay contains a two-light stone mullioned window. The right bay and the second bay from the right both feature three-light casement windows with wood lintels. The gable ends are coped and have kneelers. Inside, there are open fireplaces with timber bressumers and stop-chamfered spine beams.
