Description
No. 3 Silver Street is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is built of coursed limestone rubble, which was once limewashed, and features a brick stack and a stone slate roof with a half-hipped front gable. The house has a single-room plan and is a single storey with an attic, presenting a two-window range.
The doorway, located to the right of centre, is topped by a stone slate canopy and leads to a 20th-century glazed door. The windows include wide horned 3/3-pane sashes, with the right window replaced in concrete, and attic windows in the raised centre section. There is a 17th-century three-light ovolo-moulded mullion window with an iron casement, alongside a 20th-century casement to the right.
The interior has been extensively remodelled and features a 20th-century central lateral stair.
