Description

Mayfield is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is built of coursed limestone rubble and features brick cambered heads, brick gable stacks, and an interlocking tile roof. The house has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a symmetrical front with a two-window range. The entrance includes a doorway with a six-panel door, where the top pair of panels are glazed, and is sheltered by a flat canopy supported on iron brackets. The ground-floor windows are modern casements with segmental brick arches, while the first-floor windows are narrower plate-glass sashes. There is also a single dormer on the roof. The interior has not been inspected.
