Description
The Baptist Chapel and School Room is a late 18th-century building located on the south side of Weston and Weedon High Street. Constructed from ironstone ashlar, it features a pyramid-shaped slate roof and is one storey high with three bays. The central doorway has a wooden surround and consists of a six-panel double door with an overlight and an arch timber hood supported by brackets. On either side of the entrance are long, 40-pane sash windows with plain stone frames.
Inside, the chapel includes Victorian fittings, such as a gallery that wraps around three sides, featuring a panelled front that frames a band of filigree ironwork. To the right of the chapel is the school room, likely built in the early 19th century. This two-storey structure has rendered walls and a slate roof, with two bays. The entrance is located in the left bay, featuring a wooden lintel and a six-panel door with an overlight. There are two 20-pane sash windows to the right and two-light transom casement windows with wooden lintels on the first floor. The chapel is noted to have been built in 1791.
