Description

Malsbury Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th to 18th century, which was remodeled in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared ironstone and limestone, topped with an artificial stone slate roof and features brick stacks. The building is L-shaped and has two storeys with two bays. The left and centre bays contain three-light casement windows with wooden lintels, while the right bay has a smaller two-light casement window with a wooden lintel. On the first floor, there is a two-light casement window with wooden lintels. The rear wing, which is two storeys and one bay, has an entrance in the right bay with a wooden lintel and a plank door, along with a 20th-century two-light casement window to the left and a similar window on the first floor. The gable end is coped. Inside, the farmhouse features stop-chamfered spine beams and an open fireplace with a bressumer, although part of the opening has been bricked in on the left. The farmhouse is said to have had a datestone from 1667, which was noted when the roof was altered in 1958 but is now missing.
