Description
Glebe Farmhouse is a house dating from the mid-17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from uncoursed limestone rubble with ironstone dressings and features an asbestos tile roof and brick stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, comprising two bays. The doorway in the right bay has a wooden lintel and a plank door, with a 20th-century stone porch added. To the left of the doorway, there is a window with a 17th-century stone hood, below which a wooden lintel has been inserted, leading to a 20th-century casement window. A similar stone hood is above a 20th-century French window in the left bay. The first-floor windows have stone hoods and 20th-century wooden casements. On the left side, there is a three-light stone mullioned window and a single-light stone framed attic window. The left gable is coped. There is a one-bay, two-storey extension to the right, dating from the 18th century, featuring 20th-century metal casement windows, with a roof that continues from the main house. Inside, the farmhouse has stop-chamfered joists and girders in two of the first-floor rooms.
