Description
Appletrees and Outlook Cottage is a pair of cottages dated 1631, located on the west side of Pound Lane in Badby. The buildings feature coursed squared ironstone and have roofs made of slate and asbestos tiles, with brick stacks at the ends and ridges. They are two storeys high and have a three-window range. Appletrees has a 20th-century porch and a 20th-century bay window on the right, along with two three-light casement windows with timber lintels on the first floor. Outlook Cottage has a part-glazed plank door with a chamfered timber lintel, a 20th-century three-light casement window to the left, a single-light window with a chamfered lintel on the far left, and a 20th-century dormer window. To the right, there is a datestone inscribed "ANNO 1631." Inside Appletrees, there is a stop-chamfered spine beam and joists, as well as an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer. The cottages are included for their group value.
